DTI Pushes Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship, Industrial Development


“Innovation is at the heart of our industrialization strategy in achieving an entrepreneurship-driven economy,” said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez at the Inclusive Innovation Congress 2017 on 31 May. 

According to the trade chief, entrepreneurship enables Filipinos to develop innovation mindset that will lead them to be value creators. He underlined the importance of value creation in products and services as it empowers micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to be more differentiated, competitive, and more progressive.

DTI, DOST Sign MOU on Inclusive Innovation Roadmap.


Wrapping up the two-day Inclusive Innovation Summit 2017, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez (3rd from L) and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato de la Peña (2nd from R) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Inclusive Innovation Roadmap in Makati on 1 June 2017. Among others, this memorandum will establish the Technical Working Group (TWG) that will oversee the implementation and formulation of the Inclusive Innovation Roadmap, which will eventually push forward the competitiveness of Philippine micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the global value chain. This is in line with the thrust of DTI to promote entrepreneurship and innovation as game changers for the Philippine economy, creating more value, distinction, and differentiation of Philippine products with the rest of the world.
